My professional method

I clean exclusively from the ground using a pure-water pole system.

Water is filtered to zero parts per million. It is applied with soft brushes selected for the roof material. No high pressure is used. No weight is placed on the structure.

Glass roofs receive heated pure water to lift traffic film and algae. The finish is clear from inside and outside.

Polycarbonate roofs receive a controlled flow and a pH neutral solution where required. This protects the UV coating and prevents scratching.

I never take chances with conservatory roofs.

Polycarbonate and glass are easily scratched or cracked if the wrong method is used. I work with a gentle soft wash system and the correct cleaning solutions so the roof stays undamaged while everything that has built up over the years is safely removed.

I always clean the gutters, valleys and seals properly.

This is where most of the problems start. Leaves, moss and sludge collect in the channels and around the seals. If they are not cleared out thoroughly they hold water and cause leaks. I take the time to sort these areas every single time.

The difference inside the house is massive.

Once the layer of algae, moss and dirt is gone the conservatory suddenly feels much brighter and drier. Customers often tell me they get natural light back in rooms that had started to feel dark and gloomy.

I use professional treatments that actually last in our climate.

The North West weather is tough on conservatory roofs and things can turn green again quickly. Because I hold the PA1, PA6 and PA6AW certificates I can apply the stronger approved biocides that give you the longest possible time before the growth returns.

How Much Does Conservatory Roof Cleaning Cost?

A small lean-to polycarbonate roof in Sale, Timperley or Cheadle is typically £120 to £170.
A standard 3×3 metre glass Victorian or Edwardian roof in Hale, Bowdon or Didsbury is usually £160 to £220.
A large P-shaped or L-shaped glass roof in Wilmslow, Alderley Edge or Knutsford is normally £240 to £340.

Conservatory Roof Cleaning FAQ's

Do you clean the inside of the roof as well?

I specialise in the external clean, which restores the light. I can advise on safe internal cleaning, but I do not offer it as a service.

Will the panels be scratched?

No. I use brushes designed for coated glass and for polycarbonate. No abrasive pads are used and no high pressure contacts the surface.

Do you clean the gutters at the same time?

Yes. Clearing the box gutter and flushing the outlets is included in every conservatory roof clean.

Will it cause a leak?

No. My low-pressure method does not force water under seals. It is safer than a pressure washer and safer than leaving heavy moss to block drainage.

How Long Will the consevatory Stay Clean?

Most conservatory roofs remain clear for 12 to 24 months following a pure-water clean. Roofs located under mature trees benefit from an annual light maintenance wash. I offer a reduced rate for established clients.
